There are times we all need to unplug and just enjoy the company of our loved ones, or the sound of birds singing with the wind in the trees, or that hot cup of coffee before we start our day. Just a few moments each day in which we live only in the present, minus the hustle and bustle and our phones ringing and that incessant urge to scroll mindlessly through Facebook and Instagram can really set us back in sync with nature and our Higher Selves.
How much time do we each spend in a day just waiting for those hands on the clock to move forward? We are often so eager to get to the next hours, the next day, that we lose sight of just how precious this very moment right here, right now, can be.
The problem is, our social lives have become somehow more demanding, yet less sincerely engaged. How much time do you spend on social media, doing nothing really at all? Imagine if you could take all that spent energy and put it towards something you're passionate about, yet make little time for! It's true that these days, offline is the new luxury.
But where do you begin?
The key to daily consciousness is starting your day right! Below, I'll share some tips with you on how you can begin to reach for a calmer, more productive morning. Then, I'll also share some tips and advice with you on how you can start to manifest some positive changes in your life, aiding your pursuit of daily consciousness.
So, we all have our own obligations and commitments to deal with regularly. However, the basics of these obligations and commitments are quite similar for us all. To save ourselves time and some peace of mind each morning, we can do the following:
*Take about 15 minutes or so before bed to tidy up, putting away clothes and dirty dishes, etc. Sleeping in a serene room and waking to a tranquil and clean living space will insure you wake up feeling more calm and more productive.
*Gentle reflection each night, such as writing in a gratitude journal or just focusing on the joyful moments of your day, will train your mind to concentrate on positive thoughts, giving you contentment as you drift off to sleep. It's a lovely way to switch gears and welcome sweet, blissful dreams.
*Dream pillows can also make for waking rested and refreshed, not to mention that they can also aid in warding off nightmares and receiving Divine messages. Sewing sigils into your dream pillows will boost their magick!
*Perform a dream spell each night to enchant your sleep and restore your magickal power. You'll want to be sure you record any new insight,etc. in your dream journal upon waking. Here's a really simple dream spell you can use/modify however you desire:
Simply sprinkle some Mugwort onto some burning charcoal in your censer and let it burn as you lie in bed. This will open the gates to magickal realms and activate your third eye as you sleep. Once the Mugwort begins to burn, you'll chant the following incantation three times, with pure love and an assertion of power:
"I am one of the blessed,
Who seek complete union with the divine,
I am one of the shining ones,
Whose light continues to brighten the night,
Dreams be sweet⋆Dreams be kind ☼ ☼ Bring me rest ⋆ And peace of mind"
Or, you can simply create a powder of salt, lavender, and mugwort and keep it under your bed/near your bedside with the same intent, and charge it with the wonderful dream crystal, Amethyst!
*Enjoy a Dream Magick bedtime soak by combining the following in a warm bath:
- 2 cups of Epsom salts
- 2 cups of fine sea salt
- 1 tablespoon of lavender oil (or 3tbsp lavender buds)
- 1 tablespoon of chamomile oil (or 3tbsp of chamomile flowers)
- 2 cups of coarse dead sea salt
- Rose petals
*Begin each day with making a short list of goals.
*Plan to stay unplugged from all electronic devices before bed and early in the morning.
*Spend a few moments in meditation each morning.
Once you've come up with your own version of the above suggestions to create your own Daily Consciousness regimen, remember that there's always ways to improve! Manifest joyfulness and seek mindfulness each day by constantly striving to make positive changes, no matter how small! To do this, create a vision in your mind of what a more mindful YOU look like, and visualize the manifestation of this version of yourself. Make the vision as real as you can, engaging all your senses. Keep a list of all the changes you desire to manifest in a little red book (why red? because red represents power, of course!).
